Rebecca Bennett Announces NJ-07 Deckplate Leadership Tour
Rebecca’s showing up despite Kean Jr. declining her debate challenge
SOMERVILLE, NJ — Over the summer, Rebecca Bennett challenged Tom Kean Jr. to six debates — one in each county covered by the district. Rebecca and Tom debated in Union County last weekend, but he never responded to the rest of the challenge. Rebecca’s showing up anyways.
Today, she’s announcing a Deckplate Leadership Tour in the five remaining counties in the district. Over the next few weeks, Rebecca will speak directly with voters about what’s on their minds and share her vision for lowering costs in NJ-07, getting corruption out of Washington, and putting country over party.
“Throughout his time in Congress, Tom Kean Jr. has failed to show up for us. He was nowhere to be found when his party started a reckless war with Iran, gutted healthcare, or tried to cancel Gateway Tunnel funding. Since taking office, he’s failed to hold a single public event and consistently runs away from the media who try to hold him accountable,” said Rebecca Bennett. “I learned to lead in the Navy, and my leadership is deckplate leadership, which means that you have to show up and listen to the people you serve to hear what the issues are. I’m excited to launch this Deckplate Leadership Tour because my campaign is about listening to New Jerseyans and bringing a new generation of leadership to create real change in Washington.”
